Last week, a close friend visited me at my work to what exactly was I responsible for in the small clinic that I work for as a medical assistant. The small clinic is located in the southern part of the country I live in so my friend had to travel a long way by bus, train and by taxi before reaching our location. While I was on a break, my friend asked me what I do at work and whether I am contented with my job. I told my close friend that I am very happy with what I do and that I do all sorts of things at work.
As a medical assistant for a small clinic, I told my friend that part of my job is to clean the clinic before it opens to accept patients daily. I also handle administrative duties like handling accounting and auditing for our small clinic as well as being the de facto cashier. Of course, I have to assist doctors in whatever they want me to assist them with.
